Faculty of Information Engineering and Technology (IET)
IET constitutes the key technology for the scientific and technical progress in many areas of human life. Utilizing the latest developments in electronics, the modern communication and network technologies provide a unique basis for the development of innovative applications, e.g., in telecommunications, automation, medical engineering or even in economics.
It is widely acknowledged that an engineering undergraduate education is a strong foundation for a successful career in many disciplines. The faculty has been careful to develop a forward-looking curriculum, taking into account the expertise and technologies required in the job markets of the future.
Career Opportunities
Graduates who earn the B.Sc. in Information Engineering and Technology will possess excellent opportunities in wide variety of technology such as, mobile communication systems, wireless networks, Cloud computing and Big data storage, Analog and digital electronics systems, and radio frequency engineering systems. They become responsible for designing, developing, testing as well supervising the production of telecommunication systems, radar and navigation systems, electronic circuits, systems on chip, digital systems and wireless communication networks. These engineers are involved in designing new products, writing requirements for their performance, as well as developing maintenance schedules and charts. Testing equipment and machinery, solving operation problems, estimating time and cost of electrical and electronic products also come under their job procurement.
